Just a thought, but do you think there is more information the nursery could provide on the apps they use? Ours give photos, brief general updates and food, but I was going to suggest they do other things with it as well (maybe vouchers for local childrens places, or a community group for the parents to meet each other). My daughter is there 4 days a week and it's a big part of her life, but I would want the team to be able to focus on looking after her rather than updating an app all the time.
Are there any other apps out there that are useful for this sort of stuff? Apps for parents I mean.
