I created a website by purchasing the domain address from GoDaddy and set the website up by hosting from Wordpress. It seems by GoDaddy domain didn’t renew. Therefore the website has gone. I have tried to login to Wordpress with no joy.. I am trying to start again by connecting my GoDaddy domain to Wordpress however if I select the free option and remove the premium from basket when trying to add the domain it kicks me back to the add domain page. Is the hosting free not possible?

Nobody's replied to my post either. For me, it's like trying to learn a foreign language without a teacher. I hope you got yours sorted.

Does this help?

Building a website on GoDaddy is free. However, you'll need to subscribe to one of its paid plans to access your website after 30 days. GoDaddy's paid plans start at $9.99 per month on the Basic plan and go up to $24.99 per month if you're building an e-commerce site.

Which I got from: www.forbes.com/advisor/business/software/godaddy-web-hosting/

You won't get free hosting anywhere, especially not for a Wordpress site. Godaddy's Wordpress hosting plans start at £72 a year.

The site you built may have been deleted when your plan expired but, if that was very recent, they may be able to retrieve it for you. Be aware that, when hosts mothball a site, it usually changes name and permissions; it can be a right pain to put everything back the way it was.

Assuming you understood what you were doing when you built it, your best bet now is probably to sort your plan out and rebuild your website.

Sorry all, I just noticed I forgot to reply on this. Unfortunately it looks like the website domain renewed but the hosting didn’t and unfortunately I therefore lost the website entirely and had to get a new hosting subscription and start again. A costly mistake but at least a lesson learnt!
