A scheduling app for free?

I'm looking for an app to help with this;

My grandad has come out of hospital as they think he may rehab better at home. I need an app whereby we can all log in and select which 'shifts' we can do, as someone will need to be with him 24/7 for a little while.

Does such a thing exist for free? Most seem to be staff rota ones I have to pay for?

I would just set it up in excel. Name of "cover" in left column and then dates/times going along the top. A cell is then coloured yellow or whatever for the slots people can do. A different colour for each person, so it's easier viewing.

There's an app called Doodle that I've used to try and coordinate events with people, so that might be worth having a look at.

If you all have iPhones you can set up a shared calendar.

We use Cozi for planning family logistics, you can all set events with times etc and choose who gets notifications, who is required and everyone can see them. Working well so far!
