7 years ago I bought a Dyson Animal Ball vacum cleaner. 7 years later it i still going strong ad as good as it was when I first got it. Dysons are expensive but I think they are excelent value for money and o all the hoovers I have had over the years the Dyson uction is second to none and all these years later the suction is just as good.

However I am thinking of buying a cordless dyson. Has anyone used a cordless vacum cleaner and how do they compare to the standard version apart from the fact that there is no cord. I looked online and apparently you use batteries.

I recently bought a cordless iron and would never go back to a cored

I’ve got a cordless Dyson V8 Animal, and I love it. You don’t use batteries, it recharges from the mains. Converts between a smaller handheld and an upright vacuum cleaner, and it’s so light - much appreciated right now when I’m very pregnant, plus my 2yo happily vacuums with the handheld which is a great help 😆

I use a cordless handheld dyson at work - not sure of the model but it recharges from the mains. I really like it and want one for home . However I see dyson handheld threads on MN, and posters are always slagging them off !

I have a cordless animal and I absolutely hate it. I use my traditional upright dyson, the kids use the cordless - they love it.
For me, the cordless doesn’t suck up anywhere near as good as my upright, the battery life is terrible for the size of our rooms, you have to permanently keep hold of the ‘go’ button (which is tricky for my hypermobility), it’s much more of a faff changing the tools during cleaning. I just hate it and will never ever buy another one.

My handheld annoys me. I think it is a V8 or V10. The filter is so easily clogged. I have a spare which helps but it is still annoying.
