DD’s iPad hasn’t been used since March. We charged it up and entered the WiFi details but although it is showing as the WiFi has connected, it won’t let us load the internet or look for software updates.

This is the message we get on the screen. We have tried re boots etc.

Can anyone help please?

Have you check the App Store to see if Safari needs an update?

Try going into settings and reset the network settings. It might help

My macbook hadn't been used for two years and wouldn't connect to the Internet. I used apple supports live chat and eventually we got it working by changing the date and time, as it seemed was stuck in 2019!! Hopefully this may work. Reboot after changing anything as the new settings will not be applied until this is done. Actually, I think a similar thing happened with my son's Ipad. Failing this, use another device to talk to Apple Support live chat. They are great and free 😁

Actually looking at the error message this was exactly the same problem!!

Check the date and time. I remember having issues a while ago when to date and time reset to 1/1/1970.

Thank you MN, you’re all wonderful!

I changed the date and time and it’s all working again now! ☺️

Change the date and time to the current date and it will work. The certificate will show as invalid if you don't have the correct date.
