Gaming PC for teenager that won't break the bank

Looking for a gaming PC, for my 13 year old, mostly to play Minecraft, but when I search for Gaming PC, they are so expensive! Happy with a refurbished one. Don't want to waste my money on one that's not fast enough or can't support good graphics. It will also be used for GCSE homework too.

Budget is the most important thing.

The more you spend (within reason) the longer the PC is likely to run modern games and software.

Minecraft is actually pretty low demand, and there are plenty of PCs for reasonable money that can run it just fine. If it really is just for minecraft, you may be better with something like an xbox one, or Xbox series S and a separate PC for homework.

Give us an idea of the budget and I'm sure myself (and others) can suggest some options....

Any PC (or laptop) will cope fine for normal homework, so don't stress about that side of things.

Re the gaming PC, whilst your DC may only want it for Minecraft now, they quickly grow out of things in the early teenage years, and Minecraft is really aimed at younger ages anyway, so he may already be close to growing out of it. You could get an older/lower spec PC that will just about run Minecraft with the intention to replace it pretty quickly as he moves onto other things. Or you can get a higher spec/more expensive one now in the hope it will cope for a few years for other games too. Have you considered second hand - lots of high spec computers on Amazon etc from reputable refurb companies.
