I'm pretty sure I want to close my FB account. Have you done the same? Did you regret it? Can you mothball it for a period of time and come back later? I'm just a bit worried I will lose touch with some of my friends. I'm copying all my photos off my page at the moment. Anything else I should do?

Any advice welcome!

Yes I did it. No regrets. I had to open one at a later date for a work related account, but I have now closed those too.

You could try the temporary closure one and then, after a period of time, delete it fully.

Ok thanks, I didn't know about the temporary closure one. I'll look into it.

I deactivated my Facebook account but still have messenger.

When I deactivated it you had the option for it to automatically reactivate after a month, two months or never - I chose never.

Don't miss it one bit!

Thanks folks. Still mulling it over. I've started off by greatly reducing the number of times I look at it, to once a week, to see if I miss it (I don't!). Next step is to get off it completely I think
