What does it mean when an ex friend (someone you no longer have as a friend on snapchat) all of a sudden appears in your chats with 'pending' next to their name but NO message was sent from me to be pending, no arrow either, they sent the last message many years ago.. But it said pending 5 days ago 🤔

I've just went back onto Snapchat and the person is gone again!
What the hell happened there?
