recording meets and preventing background noise

I use meet to make lesson videos for remote learning. It works really well apart from when one of my kids shrieks downstairs and it is then recorded along with my voice over, ruining the whole thing! Someone told me there was a noise cancellations setting on meet which would work but it isn't enabled. Would wearing headphones with a microphone work? I basically have a meeting with myself, share my screen and record myself giving the lesson. If I did this wearing headphones with a mike, would it be just my voice that was recorded or would any background noise also be recorded?

You’d need to put the headphones on the mic for it not to register the sounds! Can you rig up a way to hang a duvet against your closed doors. And tell/bribe your kids to be quiet.

Using headphones with mic during a webinex meeting, and I had the neighbour using a hedge trimmer RIGHT outside my window. I found it really noisy, but no one in the meeting could hear it at all, so well worth a try. I would get some decent quality ones though.
