iPhone help!?

Hi I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right place but here goes. I dropped my iPhone XR this morning. It fell from the kitchen worktop on to stone tiles. I now have two vertical lines on the right hand side of the phone and a bit of discolouration at the bottom. I have reset the phone but it’s still there so I’m assuming that the screen is broken. Does anyone know how much it would cost to have fixed? Thanks

I've just paid 60 to get my 8 repaired, not at Apple.

Thanks for replying, was that a local phone place?

If you are tech minded they are pretty simple to swap the screens yourself. A new screen costs around £20 on eBay. There’s tons of YouTube videos explaining really clearly what to do. I’m a dab hand now because I am terrible with phones!

If you don’t want to go via apple (costs upwards of £120 last time I looked) get in touch with a local phone repair company. Should be around £50-£70 depending where you live.

Thanks. Dh knows someone who owns a phone shop. I’ll get him to ask how much it will cost. It’s working fine but really annoying to see it on the screen.

I'm guessing that you don't have the Apple insurance. Once you get it repaired not by Apple, that would be invalidated.

It's always a question, never know which is best pay for insurance or covet cheap fixes.

Apple prices here: support.apple.com/en-gb/iphone/repair/service/screen-replacement

XR out of warranty £196.44

I've no idea how good 3rd party screens are for the XR. They were nowhere near as strong when I last replaced them, but that was waaaay back in the iPhone5 days. They'd shatter as soon as you look at them.

I don’t have Apple care and got the phone last June, so over a year ago.

Wow, £200.00 is steep Shock
