Child’s Fitbit?

Hello

My daughter will be 9 years old next month and has asked for a fit bit. Has anyone else’s child got one and what would you recommend. She’s only quite small so wondering if the wrist bands are going to be too big!

Thank you

Josie x

My very skinny 10 yr old has a Fitbit Ace with the small band and it fits fine. Do the rest of you have Fitbit? The main advantage is using the app as a family so you can compete in challenges etc, if you don't have it I'd probably get a cheaper type activity monitor.

@Patchworksack thank you. No one else has a Fitbit but it sounds fun all joining in! What kind of phone do you need because we’ve all got quite old iPhones (iPhone 6)?

Thanks x

I’ve just had a quick look on internet, is the one your daughter has the one specifically for children, I can see a pinky colour one and a blue one? Thanks x

The Ace is specifically for children and they have a profile on a parent controlled app. Officially they are supposed to be 13 for their own account but I don't think it is too treacherous! I have an Alta on a small band which also fits my son. You might just want to think about how big the actual unit is if your child has tiny wrists. I have an old iPhone and it works fine (and on an android tablet)

My 8yo has one. It fits fine and he loves it, but he has somewhat sensitive skin and can't really wear it for long periods or it turns his skin red and sore under the sensor.

@ @whatsagoodusername thank you, it sounds like a good choice so I’ll get shopping around to see if there are any good deals! 😊

I got my daughter a Xiaomi Mi Band when she was 6. Only about £20.00 She wears it constantly. 18 months later it's still going strong. It has encouraged her to walk further and to go to bed at sensible times. It's one of the best things we have ever bought her.

@Oldandcobwebby I’ll definitely check that out then, thank you x
