Find my iPhone

Hi, sorry if this is a daft question but is it possible to switch off the find my iPhone function without knowing the Apple password? Also how do I check if there's any other tracking apps on there? It's my daughter's phone and I suspect my abusive stbexh has tracking on there to keep tabs on me. When we first separated he told me someone was telling him my location and activities. Now I've thought about it I figure it was him tracking me via find my iPhone which was on the laptop he took with him when he left. I keep her phone switched off most of the time as she doesn't really use it. When she goes to high school I'll want the function on but want to be able to switch it off if we are on holiday. Hope that makes sense!

I would change the Apple ID attached to the phone. Or even just the password on the account.
Means you wouldn't have to change any settings etc when you go away.

How do I do that? I don't know the password to start with as the phone is from her dad. She doesn't know it either.

If you google "track phone" you will find loads of sites telling you how you can track somebody if you want to - obviously I'm not sure how many of them work!

But if this was me I'd completely disable Location services (in settings, then privacy) as that will turn off the GPS.

You could take it into a phone shop and have it completely restored to factory settings.
You would then, unfortunately have to re download all apps etc but you could then set it up with a new Id and have full control.

@Threeminis I did think about doing a factory reset but then he'd probably do the same when she visits him
