Photos killing iPhone storage

I've got two iPhones which I alternate depending on whether I'm in my adopted country or my home one. My usual phone is an iPhone 6S and I'm paying for iCloud storage so can store as many photos as I like. My other phone is a 5, and the storage is full due to the photos being automatically shared from my other phone (I hope this is making sense!).

Is there any way to stop sharing the photos between the two phones? If I manage to back up the photos from the 5 onto iCloud, won't everything be duplicated? I'm so confused!

Just copy the pics onto your computer and then delete off your phone. SimplesSmile
