iPhone 5s retrieve deleted voicemail

Google States to tap on the voicemail icon and scroll down the list but when I tap the icon on my phone it just dials voicemail. Anyone know how I can get my deleted voicemails back please

I think the tapping and scrolling is when you have visual voicemail set up if that helps?

I voicemail is held by your network, not your phone.

No way to retrieve it once deleted.

I have "deleted messages" listed at the bottom of the screen that comes up with I touch the voicemail icon.
