Tattoo aftercare soap

I am not prepared for the aftercare of my first tattoo. I never knew I would have to wash it and use antibacterial soap or an unscented soap. I have neither of these. I don't live in a big town and I don't have a big shop near me. Pharmacies are now closed.

I checked my local corner shop and there selection of soaps and even baby stuff is very limited. I am going to check on another shop to see if I find something there for washing tonight.

If I can't find anything, can I use diluted Dettol tonight and aim to get into the city tomorrow to find a suitable soap.

I had a bad overnight with other stuff and I was absent minded most of the day.

I use the tattoo goo wash, balm and cream - you can get it from Amazon.

Baby wash would probably be fine though, I don’t think you necessarily need to use any special stuff as long as it’s kept clean and moisturised.

I won't be able to get any specialised stuff tonight.

I checked in my local shops. They only have baby wash with fragrance.

I wouldn’t give it a second thought. I’ve few tattoos - some big and some small. I’ve never used anything other than normal shower gel/liquid soap and savlon. Some people recommend haemorrhoid cream.

I do have regular hand soap at home. I think it's Dettol.

I may have a soap substitute too but not too sure.

I’ve been using unscented sanex shower gel on mine!

Had a tattoo today as well! The advice was any soap is fine, just to clean and moisturise twice a day.
