My daughters piercing has healed over

My 8 year old got her ears pierced in October and we took them out instead of taping them for her trampoline training tonight. After an hour the back of one has healed over. She’s distraught, I tried twice but it’s sealed at the back, I don’t want to anymore incase of causing any problems. Has anyone any advice for tonight please as to how soon and if it’s possible to get it re pierced? Thanks ☺️

Try wetting the front and back of the ear, you may find that helps the post slide through. Make sure you can see the back of the hole, if it’s not completely straight, you may not be in the right place.

We went back to the tattooist and he passed a needle back though it. Tattoo numbing cream and all done in seconds.

Has it really sealed in that time? Have you tried passing an earring through from back to front? You can try warming the ear with slightly cooled boiling water to see if helps open it up - we tried lots before going back to the tattooist

I’d dip the post of the earring in savlon and try to get it in from back to front

I would have thought it was almost impossible for it to ‘heal’ over within an hour. If you really can’t get it back in tonight then a piercer who works with needles should be able to re-do it without any problems.

This used to happen to mine. I’m positive it’ll look worse than it is and it’d probably be very easy to pop it back through yourself. As PP have said, try going back to front as it might only be a thin layer. Don’t push too heavily but just have a bit of a wiggle. If it’s thicker then front to back could be done but you’d need a piercing needle really so as not to inflict trauma to the ear. See if you can pop in to a piercers tomorrow and they’ll be able to sort it; you don’t need to wait to have it popped back with a needle. You would have to wait for it to heal fully if your intention is to have it redone with a gun, which I sincerely hope isn’t the case!

This.

Try dip the end of the earing in coconut oil. I do this for one of my holes that likes to close, but don't force it.

Thank you for all your advice, I couldn’t get near her ear she knows we will have to have it redone-I’ve contacted a tattoo place and hopefully they’ll sort it!

What kind of earring did she have in it?
