Period/ovulation time tattooing

Just wondered on other peoples thoughts. I'm 40, been getting tattooed for 2 odd years, and good lord it's getting so much worse as I get older pain wise.

Is anyone else feeling this? At 18-20 I could sit through 8 hours and only be really struggling after 6 even on a spicy area.

Now I'm really struggling after 3, and if it's anywhere near ovulation or period I'm absolutely screwed after 3-4. I stopped a session at 4hrs recently.

I don't remember ever considering cycle times when I was young, but I'm now hearing chat about it, especially in peri women.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Yes, i try to avoid being tattooed if I'm pre menstrual or on my period. I'm 36 and it's getting worse and worse as the years go on.

I wondered if it was to do with skin condition, but I've always been big on spf and didn't nt have thinning skin or damage. My tattooist is a similar age and thinks it gets worse too, but there isn't really much research into menopause and tattooing. It's definitely a noticeable thing though isn't it.
