Cover it?

I have one tattoo that I had done about 24 years ago. It’s a decent-ish size, about the size of my palm & on the upper arm. It ‘was’ black with red & yellow & blue & I obviously loved it when I had it done, looked brilliant. However, for the last 17 years if I am honest, I have avoided wearing sleeveless tops out as I hate it. I ALWAYS have my arms covered to that point so you can’t see it! 17/18 years of making a conscious decision when looking at tops to buy to make sure the sleeves are long enough to cover the tattoo. The black has faded to a blurry blue & the detail is no longer apparent. DH says it looks like a big splat or spider on my arm. It’s just not nice, in fact it’s so shitty now.

Most of the time I just put it to the back of my mind, now & then I have a think if I should have it covered with something else & look at tattoo ideas. Thing is, I definitely do not want it any bigger! So an idea came to me the other day if I could work with what I already have but change the detail & make it nicer. It might be a daft question but can white ink cover a dark ink, a dark blue (what was once black) ? It’s faded so much that the black looks blue now.

Tattoo removal costs far too much so that’s not an option.

I do like tattoos, looking at the artwork these days, it’s incredible now. I just wish I had mine done somewhere else like on my back or shoulder would have been better.
