Shading months after linework

Heya just looking for some reassurance if the tat will still look good. I had the linework done end of may. I had to rebook the second session for the shading to be done because it took a bit longer to heal. I was supposed to go today but i've had to rebook because my son has covid. The next appointment won't be until September. Has anyone had shading done much later or know if it'll look fine? I had had black linework done and the shading will be black/grey no colour.

It will totally be fine! For really big pieces, like a full backpiece, it's actually pretty common to have the linework done first, then shading, then colour if it's to be a colour tattoo. Those sessions can be months apart. The wait will make absolutely no difference to your end result.

It’ll be absolutely fine. I’ve done this several times, for all kinds of reasons. The only time it’s sometimes problematic is if you need to find a different artist to shade someone else’s lines.
