Tattoo using loved ones ashes?

My lovely dad passed away 18 months ago and I want to get a tattoo done for him, just like I did when my mum died. I held back some of his ashes as I have heard you can have them mixed in with the ink.....has anyone done this and if so does it look different to just a normal tattoo?

No idea but I'm interested in seeing the answers. I always thought I'd have some jewellery done but a tattoo stays with you always

Isn[t it a health risk?

Yes I done this last October, using my dads ashes. It looks and feels like a normal tattoo. I luckily found a super artist who was willing to do the tattoo (other tattoo artists said no) he only used a teaspoon of ashes mixed into the ink, it is important to grind the ashes finely into the ink. It turned out perfect and no side or health affects. Picture below :)

That’s a gorgeous tattoo. And such a special thing to do. I didn’t know it was possible

Thanks all. I've had it done and am really pleased with it
