Posting here for knowledgeable piercing types - lobe piercing woes

I am an idiot and put Caflon studs into healed 2nd lobe piercings, posts were too wide, everything swelled up, so I took them out and now I have bleeding piercings with no earrings in.
So what now - leave well alone and see what it's like when everything has calmed down again, or put thinner post earrings back in now? I have silver or gold to choose from.
Any wise words?

Personally I’d clean them really week and boil clean the earrings and put them back in with some disinfectant cream.

They should heal.

Put thin sterling silver earrings in and they will calm down and heal over

I'd use the silver earrings and follow the LITFA method. No creams, lotions, potion and or anything. Just LITFA!!

How long should they boil for, would you say?

Silver earrings in, boiled for 1 min then cooled.
Thank you all Flowers

Why on earth are people saying silver earrings?! Surely it needs to be something non reactive like gold, surgical stainless steel, titanium etc - the same as a reputable piercer would put in a fresh piercing. Silver oxidises.

I would boil your gold ones OP, change out the silver and go see a decent piercer this week. Clean them very gently with cooled boiled lightly salted water once a day. Don't turn the studs.

Go to docs - ask for maxillon cream, sorted my raging daith infection out really quickly and I never lost the piercing . You have to stop touching at it too ( I know this is hard! ) bathe in salt water

Gold is just as inappropriate as silver for fresh piercings. Of the two, I'd use silver.

I put the silver ones in and LITHA and all is well, am going to leave them in until the end of May just to make sure. Thanks for the advice 🙂
