After practically a lifetime of struggle I made the decision to give up drinking completely. I vow to never ever go back because it's changed everything in my life for the better. I would absolutely love a tattoo somewhere just for me to celebrate my sobriety for my year anniversary. But I'm not very creative or arty so I'm hoping you can help!

I've no clue but I don't want just "sober" - I want something a bit more creative than that.

Thank you in advance ThanksBrew

A Phoenix rising from the ashes? Symbolic of you overcoming your troubles and emerging stronger

Alice in wonderland, swallow (bird) for freedom, rainbow (might be mixed with nhs covid or lgb), chains/dark and light theme, it really has to be something symbolic to you.
I would do like a pinterest board or a cloud words with what sobriety means to you.. do you want a tattoo that lookd forward or that warns you and reminds you of where you were.. or maybe both? Do you want a tattoo thats a bit cryptic or one thats familiar for others who have dealt with addictions eg live life on life's terms or one day at a time or koko for keep on keeping on?
Im sure instagram is full of sobriety tatts...

For example if you did a 12 steps you could have 12 steps stairs from darkness to light, clouds.. or it could be.... a simple tiny daisy or bow or whatever if it means something to you.

You could do anything symbolic that represents change or growth so a butterfly, phoenix, the sun coming out, a flower in full bloom, a bird in flight. Or commitment wise, you could symbolically write the intention with a quill tattoo or a quote for the future you want.

Well done Smile

Those are great questions. I think I want something to look at when my mind wavers to keep me going and feel proud when I look at it. I would love it to be something people ask about and then I could say it's because I don't drink.

I didn't do any steps or program.

Thanks for all your suggestions!

A friend has tattooed the time and date of her last drink.
