Tattoo that won't date?

I had some Chinese characters on my lower back (90's tramp stamp...) covered last year with a dot and line work mandala/lotus flower design. I love it but can't see it! I also got a fine line olive branch on my side boob last year. Both of these feel very "of the time". My other tattoo is on my hip, 20 years old, v smudged (William Morris style floral), needs a rethink which is on the to do list. But I really want a small visible one (probably side of my foot?), sick of them all being hidden, I just can't decide what. Are fine line florals and geometric dot work the current version of the 90's tribal/character tattoos? Will I be wanting an even bigger cover up in another 20 years (bearing in mind I'll be over 60...? What is a classic timeless design that won't date?! Nothing sailor like as I live by the sea and get a bit overwhelmed by nautical decor!!

There is no such thing as a tattoo that won't date. You should just get something meaningful to you in a not too visible place if you really must.

Are you on the wrong board? This the tattoo specific topic so not sure that "if you really must" ie a) relevant or b) helpful.

I have a sailor Jerry type tattoo which I don't think age.

Mines pretty large but can have something small and simple?

I have lots of others which I'm kinda guessing aren't for everyone.

Snake
Dinosaur
Orchids
Dragon
English Rose
1950's style microphone
Song lyrics
Cherry blossom
Roman numerals
My fave band logo
Old tribal tramp stamp (very embarrassed about this but only people that see me backed as this 😂)

Everything dates. Fashions change.

Band logos won't date. People would still have a Rolling Stones tattoo now same as they would 40 years ago. Butterflies don't date I don't think. I have 5 tattoos and I only really like 2 of them out of the 5. 3 are visible, 2 are hidden.

100% Yes 😅 Those and "water colour" tattoos. Trash polka too probably.

Any traditional/neotraditional style is less likely to date. Personally I just pick artists with their own style that doesn't necessarily fit into any "category", that way they're not following any trend.

For example:

It's not something I've ever worried about as I usually create my own with help from my fab tattooist friend. If you get a tattoo because it's trendy then of course it's going to date. If it's something you design or choose for yourself it won't matter.

My exception to this is a large celtic & tribal design on my back but as I don't see this it doesn't bother me!
