First timer in London

Sorry if this has been done before but I want to get my first ever tattoo at the ripe old age of turning 40 next month and don't even know where to start in terms of finding an artist/studio. Does anyone have any recommendations. I am in London.

Oh, I thought this thread was going to be asking advice about travelling / staying in London!

I know nothing about tattoos, sorry.

I hope someone more knowledgable than me comes along in a minute, but if not it might be worth reposting with a title like "where to get a tattoo in London" or something like that.

Do you know what style of tattoo you want to get? My friends who are really into tattoos go to tattoo conventions to meet artists I think.

That's a very simple tattoo so that makes your job much simpler. I would do the following:

1. Google "best tattoo studios in London" and go to the websites/instagrams of about 10 of them.
2. look at their work and see which ones you think look good.
3. Email them (or get in touch however their website/instagram says you should) describing the tattoo you want and asking about their booking process.
