I am getting a tattoo soon for the first time. Just wondering how long people would recommend before going swimming in the sea? I'm hoping 18 days is long enough?

Your artist should give you full instructions on how to take care of your tattoo, including when you can swim.

Okay, I'll have to ring them then as I'm booked for 10 July but going away in school holidays and will definitely be in the (cold) Cornish sea every day! Don't want to jeopardise the holiday or the tattoo! Thanks for replying.

I wouldnt get in to the sea water with a fresh tattoo. Its an open wound.I would really give it a month before i would swim.No point spending money on a tattoo and go swimming. You will wreck the tattoo or get an awful infection.
