What does that mean to you,

A design that you've picked out in the tattooists rather than designed yourself.

Flash work is designs that have been pre-drawn either from a flash book or by the artist. You go and pick one like ordering from a menu.

Stock image the tattooist has already got drawn up that is in their repertoire and have probably done a few times.

Designs that a tattoo artist has drawn on a sheet that you can pick from. Not custom designed.

Strictly speaking it's any tattoo picked from a book/the wall in a shop. Isn't it?

TBH I think there's a fair argument to made for distinguishing between proper, classic tattoo flash (designs that go back into the mists of modern, western tattooing) and 'random' pre-draw stuff the tattooist would like to do (however lovely).

What on earth else was someone claiming it was then? I'm intrigued!

Flash like flashy? Flash like a flasher?

Or a design that is off a wall or even been just drawn up as a one-off and the artist wants to add it to their portfolio.

Im part of a fb page.And normally its fine but some one on there was getting flash.And then didnt want it cause "everyone will have it".
I said thats the idea of flash.She said it wasnt.She wanted an original piece for a flash price.

Then someone else said tere was 2 types of flash.I said no.Its whats on their wall,anyone can have it.
