Do finger tattoos always go blurry?

I want a couple of very delicate small tats either on insides of fingers or between 2nd & 3rd knuckles.
The artist I want to do it said they'll need redoing every few years. Anyone had them that stay ok?

I think side of finger ones are more prone to blurring and fading because the skin there regenerates quicker - same as with palms. Top of finger you should be better off but they will see daylight more than, say, a shoulder tattoo, so they will fade more quickly due to UV exposure.

Thanks. Didn't know that about the sides. I'm so undecided! Might just go for it...

I have a heart and it hasn't, I think the trick is simple wiuth very bold lines, anything delicate will lose its shaope.

Bold lines tattooed hard and deep will endure, delicate lines tattooed in the normal way are very unlikely to last

I've got writing inside my ring finger. Got it 5 years ago, tattoo artist said it would fade off in a year. It's still there & just now looking like it needs a touch up.

I have just booked in to have two finger tattoos. Im glad I found this thread, it gives me a bit more confidence that there not going to just disappear.
Can I ask how you looked after them while they were healing? So what did you do while doing dishes etc? Basically are they as much of a pain to heal as the internet is telling me?
