Anxiety level 100

Hey team after a long time trying I got my positive yday and double checked today as was in disbelief - 4wk 5day. However, the middle of my back is absolutely killing me and sometimes I get weird pains in my tummy, both lower abdomen and elsewhere. Is this normal? I’m so worried and my anxiety is awful right now - I keep thinking it could be ectopic or a false positive (unlikely after four tests). I’m in the UK so my first scan will be at 8 weeks 4 days. Just so anxious!

Hey @starslikeme congratulations on your news, that's fantastic. I know it's easier said than done but try to not let your anxiety take over. Being in the UK also, have you looked into an appointment at an early pregnancy unit? I'm in Wales and booked in when I was just over 6 weeks.

Thanks so much :) so I was offered a 7 week but unfortunately I will be away that week on my first annual leave in a year, so I really didn't want to cancel it! I'm in England - do you think if I push back a bit they may consider it?

Possibly, definitely worth a try! It's your body and your baby, that's what's important. Initially I paid to go private with Window to the Womb (I think they're based all over the UK) as they offer early pregnancy scans for roughly £90, I know it can seem a lot but worth it if you wan't to put your mind at rest. We ended up having the scan via the NHS in the end, after countless phone calls to the GP. I really wish you all the best, I know the anxiety you're going through too well. Why is this post on the surrogacy board?

You won't get a scan before 6 weeks after the first day of your last period, because it won't show anything that early. If you still have pain and are testing positive at 6 weeks, speak to your GP urgently. If you have severe pain, go to A+E.
