Sorry sensitive subject I know but I am a hollyoaks fan. one lady her daughter offered to be a surrogate lucky her :)

I am wondering how much on a average does a surrogate charge a couple ? Or do they even charge ? I'm really surprised what I seen on tv. Xx

It's illegal for a surrogate to be paid in the UK but expenses should be covered. These vary between surrogate's depending on their own circumstances, rough estimate would be 8-15k

Presumably during the course of the relationship with sufficient proof (eh receipts etc)

At intervals during the pregnancy, since expenses are needed during the pregnancy. During the process of granting a parental order (what the parents apply for after the birth, basically granting both parents full parental rights) the courts will look at expenses - to make sure they're accurate and to make sure the surrogate was not left out of pocket. So surrogates do not make money

It's also important to note that prepregnancy expenses also occur, like travel to and from clinics, cost of tests etc which need to be covered as they arise
