Rabbit - Blood

I have 2 rabbits (boy and a girl) 20 weeks old. The boy has been neutered.

The rabbits have been in their run for the last 3 hours.

I've just gone to put them away, and the boy rabbit has blood on his fur on both ears and around the neck. He has no injury on him. I've checked out the girl and cannot find any marks on her either.

Do girl rabbits have periods? Could the blood be from the boy sticking his head under her?

If not - any other ideas?

If your female is un-neutered it's likely that she's been hopping on and humping him. They tend to grab each other by the scruff of the neck and can cause bleeding and wounds. Randy buggers rabbits you know!
