What to put on the floor of rabbit hutch

I’ve just adopted 2 lovely bunnies, but am a total novice (usually only have cats). I have a large hutch as the inside part of a larger outdoor enclosure but no idea what to line it with - straw in the bedding area but do I put that in the rest, or shavings (which I’ve done so far but they’re everywhere) or nothing?

any advice on that or anything else for a movie is much appreciated!

I used to use sawdust on the bottom of the hutch, nice and deep, then straw to keep them warm in the enclosed part where they slept

Straw in “bedroom”—nothing elsewhere. Mine spend most of their time in the outdoor enclosure anyway—they only go in to get a drink or sit in the litter box/munch on the adjacent hay.

I only use straw in the winter as it's insulating but not much good for snacks. I use hay on top in the winter, and then just good quality hay year round.

It would be worth lining the floor of the hutch with non-slip lino as it makes it easier to wipe down and protects the wood base.

My two spend the majority of their time out in their aviary at the moment, only using their shed as a bedroom. I use a mix of vet bed, blankets and hay in the shed, with a litter tray which is newspaper pellets with hay on top. In the run they have foam tiles on the concrete, another litter tray with newspaper pellets and hay, and several hide boxes - the favourite has another sheet of vet bed with hay. One of mine has had issues with his hocks, hence lots of vet bed, and they both have bottom issues with pee now they're seniors so it makes for easier clean up. Yes my washing machine is busy every day!
