I think my hamster is dying

These past few days my hamster hasnt got any better, my hamster is nealy 3 years old.Not long ago i cleaned him out i was cleaning aorund him n he hasnt moved from the same spot all day. Everytime he goes to stand up or sit up he shakes from side to side , when hes lying down his one leg is out. And he has trouble getting comfer-table. He also struggles to move around. Hardly eating or drinking at all.

Hes starting to go gray. Me or my mom dont know weather to let him died in his own enviorment because thats what we have been told or to get him put to sleep.

What should i do?

Hi Nikki, nearly 3 is a ripe old age for a hamster. Sorry to hear he's not doing well, though. If I were you I would take him to be put to sleep. I have done it for a couple of my old hamsters and it is sad but I can't bear to see them suffer and they can't tell you how much pain they are in. It only costs a few pounds and you can either leave him there to be cremated with the other animals or tak him to bury him in the garden.
It's not an easy decision, I know, but think about what the little chap may be going through x x

Sorry to hear about your grand old man.

When i had this my Sis who's a vet told me that if they seem to be distressed but i can't get to a vet to give the hamster a spoonful of alcohol (sherry, brandy etc.)to help them along painlessly a bit.

As it happened i didn't need to do this as he died in the night.

With it being a weekend i thought i'd let you know this. But tbh i'm not sure i could do it myself.
