Since I was 12 I've always wanted a Tortoise. And today, I finally got one.

Meet Shelby, he is a horse field and 5.

Any hints or tips greatly appreciated

Wow! Loving Shelby! I’ve always wanted a tortoise but I’m too old now as they would outlive me and I have no one who I could pass them onto so I will have to get my tortoise fix here! I don’t know a huge amount about them apart from what I learned on Blue Peter! Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along and advise. I hope you and Shelby have many happy years together, he’s adorable!

I also have a tortoise called Shelby!
Last week he escaped from his outdoor enclosure and went AWOL for 5 days. I would recommend joining some tortoise forums for advice. We're now in the process of redesigning his enclosure to make sure he doesn't get out again!
