Hamster selective feeding

Our Syrian will only eat certain foods, mostly seeds, treats and fruit and veg. He ignores the hard round bits in his muesli. I'm trying to get him to go on to hamster nuggets by slowly cutting back the foods he prefers but he's still ignoring it. Has anyone had any success with this?

Our mice do this, I'm going to try changing to a food that's all the same (rather than a mix with different bits) as worried they're not getting a balanced diet. Sorry not to be of more help!

That's ok, thanks for replying. I haven't got the heart to remove all his usual food and he won't touch the pellets. They weren't cheap either! They'll have to go in the bird feeders.
