Puppy

Hi guys
Getting a new puppy on Tuesday.
Much longed for dog. I have a 9 and 6 year old. My 9 year old in particular has wanted a dog for ages.
Has anyone any cool ideas? We have had a rough few months (lost my Dad 3 months ago) so hoping this will be a positive change in our lives.
My son in particular has been hoping and praying daily.
I don't want to put in a box with a bow etc as it's not a 'gift' but a new addition.

Ah, maybe DogHouse is a better bet than the Small Pets threads?

You can put things like bowls, collar,lead etc in a box with a clue to where the Puppy is .
Where d'you plan to hide the pup till your DC see it ?

Actually , I'd tie a load of Bonio biscuits on a length of ribbon and tie the end to near the puppy (maybe the door handle rather than where he can get them) and blindfold your DC to make them feel their way along
