My guinea pig really likes cat food

Dry cat food that is, with 85% chicken/salmon content. My guinea pig only gets to my cat's bowl when I let her do run abouts in the kitchen, but I do wonder about this desire of carnivorous food! So far I have stopped her from eating more than few nibbles but she fights to get back to the bowl. Any ideas why?

Late to reply, but OP, you must NOT let her have this at all! I've no idea why she would like it but eating fish and meat is a huge no no for a herbivore. They are so food orientated aren't they, but you mustn't let it happen. Has she got a big pile of hay to chomp on whilst she's out? Also, has she a companion? They shouldn't live alone.

She hasn't had any more cat food, I was just wondering why would she be so obsessed.
And she is on her own because she just lost her sister and is over 5 years old and has a condition.. so we made a decision no new mate for her.

Please don't ever let her eat that again, it can kill her.
She also shouldn't be left alone for the rest of her life as she will be incredibly lonely

Guinea pigs are so small it should be easy to put your cat.food higher up that guinea pig cant reach. But if you have a cat should your GP really be roaming free?
