Ok, I'm mrs paranoid but having seen the sad demise of 2 hamsters in the past I'm now a bit panicky that my daughters is about to go the same way

we were in the local pets at home when my nearly 6 year old saw a little hammy that needed a home having been 'abandoned' according to the note on the cage. so...we adopted her on saturday and she was full of spirit day and night but today she is just kind of laying and staring. Last night the wheel wasn't half as noisy as the previous night either. I know they are nocturnal but she's not sleeping wiht her eyes shut ifywim but she is breathing.

this is turning into a really long post (sorry!) any hammy experts would be gratefully appreciated but I think the little 6 month old hamster istn' 'right'.

do they hibernate when scared?

Scarlett

I know Pets at Home have a policy that you can bring them back within a week if you're worried and they will check them out for you. I would suggest you get down there today - she doesn't sound right. Hope she gets better!

Thank you Strawberry Martini - I think we will be on our way there in a roly-mo. she's still looking a bit 'off'
