Teddy Guinea pigs ears are full of wax

I know teddies are prone to waxy ears. Any suggestions on how to clean them?

Our Teddy Boar Bert used to get dry manky ears - none of my the other pigs had this . We had a Rex boar , Abby and Smooths .

He used to get quite dry skin too which is typical of his breed .

I stole an idea from Gorgeous Guineas , they do a Coconut Neem melt so I tried edible coconut oil , melted in boiling water (cooled ) to apply before washing him.
And some neat coconut oil, warmed in the hand and massaged round his ears then cleaned with a muslin cloth rinsed in hot water (cooled)

If it doesn't bother them then that should be enough to clear the superficial bits .

Actuallly , he was the one who would groom the other pigs , maybe that's why their ears were perfect

Going to sound really stupid now because I have Guinea pigs myself but never heard of a teddy one what's that? X

They have coarse wiry short fur . Softer than Rex.
Springey .No long guard hair .

Rex are big , Teddy are smaller .
Huge thick claws

Rex whiskers are curlier , Teddy are straighter

Photos are (in both are sows Himmy+ Tri colour)
The huge lardy arse on the right is Husband 1 our Rex boy
The pig on the left of the other photo is Husband 2 who is Teddy .

The Rex boy (looks like a Christmas Pudding ) weighed 1.4kg !

Both boys were castrated .
Teddy and Rex are a handful, but what a lot of lovely pig to cuddle . Beautiful tempers .

Our Teddy obviously doesn't follow the mould. He's huge, not keen on cuddles for long (gets v wriggly) and very grumpy

I love the photos 70. There's no way ours would sit still to get that picture.

Oh tht Teddy in the video was gorgeous , beautiful Red Fox colour , but I winced watching her get in there with cotton buds .
If that was a rescue it would explain why her poor little ears were so filthy .
Out boy had dry skin, and yes all those little crevices in a piggies ear

The brown Rex boar (Lemon Agouti to give him his proper title ) was a tiny 6 week piglet when we got him. We were told he was a Swiss but as he grew and grew we searched a bit and found he was Rex.

And the Teddy Boar even worse !

The photos took some doing , out of 40 pictures ( DD used her iPad) only 1 would be useable . We had only a few chances to get them lined up and get the hats on - they were only ever balanced , never secured on.

This was their Christmas Eve photos , so they knew there was veg awaiting

The tri colour sows and the two boars belonged to DD , the Himalayan was mine , you can see how her points have darkened in photo 2 .

This is his little face ..judging by the look of the Himalayan , I think the sprouts have worked their magic and Dill is looking very proud of himself .
