Looks like dry skin to me but I am not knowledgable in any way!

Elieza · 19/02/2020 21:47

Yeah it does look like dry skin. But I don’t know either, just bumping for you!

nevernotstruggling · 19/02/2020 22:39

Looks like moulting

Jessie9323 · 19/02/2020 22:43

I would go to the vets as it looks like a skin condition, could be mites or ringworm etc

BadEyeBri · 19/02/2020 22:56

It looks like fur mite. Off to the vets with bunny

Riv12345 · 19/02/2020 23:06

Hi op I had this with one of my rabbits.
Took to vets and they took some scrapings of it and put it under a microscope and it showed mites!

Let me know how you get on

GingerSnapsss · 19/02/2020 23:48

Oh no! Do they spread to other rabbits and animals?? How do they get rid of them? Will I have to throw all blankets etc away? Not sure how he got them if he did as he hasn't been out!

They can get get them from hay etc

Just see what vet say , mine was mites, but my bunny had bald bits too, I wouldn't panic it's cleared up lovely, see what vet think,

Our house rabbit who isn't in contact with other animals got this. In his case it was mites, none could be seen on him with the naked eye. Vet told me they can get them in bedding, on his advice we changed to the recycled paper bedding. It was very easily sorted out once we'd seen the vet Smile

Did you go to the vet?

GingerSnapsss · 20/02/2020 21:35

Yep! Thanks so much for the advice because he does have them! Confused I've been given three lots of treatment to give to him two weeks apart each time. I'm about to go on a sanitising mission (pet friendly spray) and completely clean his cage, then apply the drops. Hope they don't come back either! The vet said he probably had them from the begging of me buying him and they've only become noticeable now. I have heard they can get them from Hay which makes me worry that they will just keep coming back Hmm have to keep an eye on my other rabbit too as he used to be in the same cage so chances are he might show signs of them later on. Hope not !

@Ahitsallover what bedding did you originally use? I've only used sawdust for bedding and hay Recently gave them both a blanket but I can't imagine him catching mites from one of them?

OP posts:
Riv12345 · 20/02/2020 21:56

He will soon recover, your bunny may never get them again, it might just be a one off.

Mine never got them again, and they cleared up in no time at all.

GingerSnapsss · 20/02/2020 21:59

Hope so! And that's good to hear! Glad they can't spread to humans ConfusedGrin

I would recommend a hemp bedding rather than sawdust. Even dust extracted sawdust can makes rabbits a bit stuffy.

Glad you got a quick diagnosis 😊
