Just to let the 'old guard' know that Currentbun was put to sleep this morning. He'd had a couple of illnesses and it was the kindest thing for the old boy. So he's off to join all the 'wretched pigs' over the bridge.

Ahh poor old Currentbun. So sad. Binky free. 😢

Fernie, I am so very sorry to hear this sad news. Currentbun was a character that gave pleasure to countless mumsnetters who read about him and his guinea pig friends.

RIP Currentbun 💐

Thanks folks. The house is empty without him and the laundry basket and my slippers stay exactly where I leave themWink. He was 8.5 years old so it's hard to get used to being without him

Awwww Current Bun Sad

It must be so odd now without the piggies and the Bun.

I have never shared my life with a rabbit but I imagine they are quite different to piggies being more self contained . (And cleverer !)

Hope his easement across The Rainbow Bridge was peaceful and the Vet appreciated what a momentous responsibility they had to enable the Last Journey for the star that is The Current Bun

Thanks 70. The vet was suitably humbled to be in the presence of his greatnessWink. It was very peaceful for Currentbun (aka Bob). We miss him terribly.

How are you getting on without pigs? I've been tempted by a pair of boars in a rescue.

Oohh boars ....... is it a Sign? You could welcome two teeny ,non judgey and grateful (for all of a week) little piggies into your life Wink

Or there's lots of rabbits in Rescue too................

My DH -Bless Him , he did loads for The Pigs even though he wasn't a fan- was quite open with his view that he wanted more cats (the most un guinea-pig like creatures ever ) and in May we got a pair (Bro/Sis) of young adults from CPL.
They are so much different to piggies , easier in a way , more independant but not cuddly cats . They sit on DS and DDs beds , wander round grandly and are very vocal when it's dinner time (bit like pigs there )

But if I put a hand out to stroke the male he's all "Don't touch me woman" though he's all over DD like second skin.
No hay to worry about but the fur !!!

And I miss the wheeking Sad
And got very excited to see leafy sweetcorn...but remembered I don't need it now .
