Gerbils

My dc is wanting to get a pair of gerbils. I was wondering how others find keeping them ?

Love them! They are very friendly (ours have never bitten) and they are awake during the day. They do have naps during the day but they are not nocturnal like hamsters. They are also very clean.
They need lots of bedding because they like to dig and they also chew a lot, so avoid plastic and give them lots of cardboard and wood to chew on. We have two girl gerbils and they are absolutely adorable and make lovely pets.
