We are thinking of getting a pair of pet mice for our dc.
Is this cage really suitable? I know it's sold as being suitable, but then i know manufacturers state that on things that provide the absolute bare minimum for the animal.

How big is it, you can get inches^2 guidance (per animal) online. Mice don't need very much, at least.
I think I prefer wire top cages for being better ventilated, but can't quite remember what DD's mice had, right now.

It has metal bars at top of cage and the rest is plastic.

Our mice (when I was a teenager) had a massive cage (My DDad made it from a cupboard) three 'rooms' with two floors. Mesh inserted into the front door ( original panels removed ) and ladders put into spaces cut in the floors.
Two wheels .
They used all the space , scorned the ladders and ran up the mesh.

They escaped from their old house (rectangular wire top/plastic base) no idea how , the bars were narrow enough and the door clipped shut.
