Oh dear just went to clean out our hamster had him a year and noticed he hadn't eaten yesterday's food!

Anyway open his cage and his eyes have scabbed over and he can't walk properly? I've got an appointment at the vets at 11.10 but what will they do? Put him to sleep?

My DD is heartbroken!

Ah poor love, I've never kept hamsters but my NDN used to adopt them.

You did the right thing, little animals do go downhill and it is only fair to him to make the difficult decisions .
