Hi,

Anyone else have ratties?

I currently have 10 permanent residents and 12 two week old babies :)

We used to have four girls until we had DS and couldn't spend enough time with them. Broke my heart to rehome them. They were fantastic pets.

They do need a lot of care. I don't think people realise how intelligent they are.

I call them pocket puppies.

Grin that's a great name for them!

I don’t have a rat now, but I have had them. I had one ta a time which I now know isn’t great for them. I’m mulling over getting a pair, but I do find it hard how short their lives are.
If I do get more, what is the best combination, and do they need to be neutered ? I had a female each time but one died of a mammary tumour which I understand is common if they don’t get pregnant ?

We've got 4 boys, Harry, Sammy, Feli and Keli. Love them to bits, our 2 daughters take turns helping to clean them out - as they are technichally the kids pets. I work from home though so they keep me company during the day when the kids are at school :)
