Boats or Sows?

So we are adopting 2 GPS from the local go rescue next week. I'm going down the c and c cage route but can only manage a 3x2 with a loft in the space we have available. I had initially reserved a pair of boys that are a year old (because no one seems to want boys) but now upon further research, I don't know if the boys will have enough space. Should I adopt 2 girls instead? I've also read that boars get boar glue everywhere which I didn't know about previously. What do I do? Do I go back to the rescue and just say that I can only adopt girls due to space requirements?
I could manage more space if we customised a garden playhouse that is 4ft by 4ft but I really wanted them in the house. Any advice?

We've had both , when DD got her first piggies she wanted a boar so we got two 1yo brothers. Only GP1 was 'boary' (the Boar Glue and the Boar Smell - Aroma D'Boar ) it's not an unpleasant smell at all, I wish GP6 was a bot more boary TBH.

Males or females need loads of space , more than you'd think.
My two sows can be a bit snippy with each other if the mood rakes them.
I did a nice big C&C for them in winter (IIRC it was 5 panels x2 panels , each is 14" square), GP6 had the 4'x2' cage which was fine for him. I have had 3 piggies sleeping overnight in the 4'x2' , its not big enough for full time , but they used to cram themselves in a box of hay in the Pighouse, so a cage of hay to sleep in was ok.
Its nice having them indoors, ours have the small bedroom, there's no door on it so they can holler to us for breakfast , or DD to chat to them , or 3am chewing paper. They're out in the Pighouse now , more space .

Boars IMO are more snuggly, DD has a passion for her lardy males. The sows we've had are far more independant. And they pee more

My boys have much more personality and tamed much easier than my girls, (though I do have some pretty epic girl pigs as well!)

I think boy pigs are awesome and are so overlooked. Boys generally need a tad more space but if they have access to a run and floor time most days then a 2x3 with loft should be fine. Can you not extend it out one grid at all so it's 3x3 or 2x4?

2x3 is the minimum amount of space they should have so it will work. If the boys are already 1 and bonded, space won't be as much of an issue as it would with baby pigs who are growing.

Have had first and mellow ones ... but find most really chatty and keen to tell you all about their day!

However, my current pair 3 year old and 10 month old are totally devoted to DH and barely give me the time of day 😞

That's because your DH is their SLAVE Mids . Popping to the park for grass!!

He's just given them breakfast, all I could hear was delighted wheeking and squeaking
Heard him tell them 'it might be warm enough and dry enough for you to play out later'.
Apparently he doesn't do pets !!
