Our guinea-pigs are indoors for winter and one of them has taken to some Late Night Singing!

I blame Bert , he has form .

In the late Summer, DD and I were sorting the Pighouse for the night, the hogs were in their grass runs. There was nothing t phase them, no cats or foxes . GP6 just sat in his run , chirruping for a good couple of minutes.

Last night and Saturday night , there was singing from the Pigs' bedroom but I don't know who it was.

There are various 'theories' about singing. Previously I've had pg sows /mum sows who sang , and GP5 sang (beautifully) just before she died Sad .

I don't think Bert is singing a swansong of doom , he seems quite chuffed with himself.

I think its amazing to hear the noise but piggies, I need my sleep Shock

Cheeky things, how dare they! Any familiar tunes being sung? Hope you get some sleep Smile

None of mine have ever shown any vocal talent, so I'm a bit jealous. I tend to get woken by early morning water bottle banging or Current Bun battling with the laundry basket and losing!

Oh 70 this proves, be careful what you wish for Grin You wanted a singing pig, now you got it. How late at night are we talking? Midnight is ok , 2.00am not so much.

Yes, I did want Singing Piggies when GP4 and GP5 came along Grin

Last night the singing pig was resting their vocal cords (but excercising their cardboard chewing muscles )

Can't remember the exact time but it was nearer to midnight Bless 'Em .

I really want my two to sing now. They silently popcorn which is quite disturbing.

Singing Guineas are WEIRD I tell you .

When GP was singing, I had just travelled back from my DParents who had one of those irritating clocks that chirp birdsong on the hour (something from the Daily Mail Magazine Bargain dept) . I was "Oh , FFS that bloody clock" till I remembered I was at home, no clock and GP5 was in the indoor run. It was alway the day she was booked to be PTS .

Why does a mammal make a noise like a bird? Sometimes like a trapped distressed bird or like a gently chirruping little songbird?

'Tis creepy at 3am. ('Tis also weird to hear a little chubby boar in his garden , they hold their heads up and their sides properly heave , its a bit of a effort for them)

3am Shock Grin lol. Earplugs for you 70

I've just seen this 70 and it's brightened up my Blue Monday. I suspect I will never hear my two sing if it requires all that effort.
