Rainbow bridge...

Mr Pig is finally off over rainbow bridge. His teeth are just too damaged for him to have a good quality of life so we're taking the hardest decision and going to the vet tomorrow. I know it's the right thing but I still keep crying. His ladies (and I) will really miss him.

Awww Mr Pig Sad

It is the toughest decision (and don't you think when you make the decision for them rather than them pootling over The Bridge, it is 10x tougher?)

Guinea live-to-eat so if they're hindered its a huge part of their life and reason for existing affected.

Cuddle him tonight, tell him he's fabulous. Maybe a couple of photos to look back on.

Then take him on his last journey (are his ladies going with him for support? )

And hopefully he'll pass peacefully and like Oreo (fellow Himmy) leave a little gift (of pee) on the Vet's table.

DD and I wailed buckets BTW , nought wrong with that !

Aww my Piggie was PTS 2 weeks ago because of her teeth, she couldn't eat or drink anymore and she was in pain. She was 5 and the gentlest most loving girl, she really loved us in her own Piggie way and she was a lone pig as she was a dominant antisocial girl with other pigs, she did love the bunny though.

She had a lovely last day with us as I knew she would be PTS that evening. We gave her lots of hugs and sat with her on the lawn, her favourite place to be. She went peacefully in my arms, squeaking at me right until the end. We have some paw prints and clippings of her fur from the vets. We've cried lots and I miss her squeaking at me, especially when we open the fridge door! I can't bring myself to buy her fave veggies just yet, it reminds me of her.

Flowers for you and your dear boy, its so hard I know.

We'll take his wives with him. He loves the vet and she's wonderful so it'll be as non-awful as it can be.

He's got his favourite food (which his ladies kept nicking so we've had him on the sofa) and lots of cuddles. There are so many photos of him thaf I think I'll do a photo book when it's a bit less raw.

Once the dust has settled I'll look for another no-one wants me pig to keep the ladies in check get walked all over by them

Thinking of you OP, I'm so sorry, it's never easy. 🌺

Oh Purple Sad Always such a hard decision but sounds like the right one for your lovely Mr Pig. Thinking of you all Flowers

PurpleDaisies · 08/08/2017 21:46

Thanks all. He's been really bright tonight but know as soon as his teeth start growing he'll be in pain again and that just comes round too quickly for him these days. He's squeaking for food and then just looking at it. It's just so hard. I really wish he'd just gone to sleep and not woken up. This is the rotten part of having such lovely pets.

It's all done and it was very peaceful. Very sad but know it was absolutely the right decision. We have him a lovely last day and he's had a very happy life.

Mr pig is irreplaceable but I think his widows will be sad without someone to boss around so will look for another lonely piggie for them to menace in a few weeks.
