Goodbye brave Poppy

My beautiful girl was PTS tngt at vets after collapsing suddenly. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer nearly 3years ago and has been amazing at surviving so long, she loved her metacam! I loved her because out of the 2 she was grumpy, bossy & feisty but grew to trust me. Just wanted to tell you what amazing little battlers piggies are and how much you love them. She's left behind her half sister who is eating for England as we speak, I will keep a close eye on her as she is old too but fortunately loves us humans. So here's to my Poppy (white/ging scruffer) xxxxx

Poor brave Poppy. She was a lovely looking pig. It's good to hear her sister is eating well and carrying on with usual pig activities. I'm sure she'll miss her sister but she'll love any extra attention (and food).

Oh but what a feisty little piggie she was. It is a 'thing' with piggies that they battle on until boom they just Go!

Its a tough decision to PTS but once you know it's the right one (the only right one) then you're doing it for the sake of the pig. Its sad that sows are prone to these cysts and lumps, I think it quite common in rodenty types (and unlike rabbits , spaying isn't really viable to get rid of hormonal issues)

I'm so sorry OP. Years ago, our family had a little ginger crested piggy, he lived indoors and was incredibly vocal, much to the children's delight. He lived to the grand old age of seven !
