I have a girl guinea pig called Trevor.

We thought she was a he. We bought a boy piggie so they could live happily together.

2 baby piggies later and she lives with my mum in a guinea pig mansion.

We kept a boy baby to keep our original boy company. He is called Baby Trevor.

I have a pony called Piglet. Apparently when she was born she had a squeaky voice and a curly tail so Piglet became her nickname and it stuck.

We also have a pair of chickens called Dawn and Jennifer. And a pair of bantams called David and Victoria Beakham.

And 2 sheep called Shania and Davina.

And a pigeon who adopted us called Kes.

Neighbour had three labradors called Boozy, Bevvy (Scottish word for alcohol) and Salty.

When I was 3 I named the cat Stinker

When I was 5 I named my hamster Joan-Lee , I've no idea why anybody let me name anything after Stinker.

Sou i definitely don't think my gran was racist just woefully ignorant. As we're a lot of people back then.
But I can imagine how some people now a days can try to justify such terrible racist names. Because it's an animal. Revolting twats.

Best one I know of (many years ago now) was a very, very up-market retired-admiral type bloke with a cat called Knickers.
He was well known in the area for standing on his back doorstep and shouting (very poshly) KNICKERS . . . KNICKERS

I met a dachshund called Frank the other week, but didnt ask if his surname was 'Furter'.
Our first one was Max Plan(c)k ( we're chemists and it seemed apt for a long dog). We also have met a Schnapps.

I had a gerbil called Mouse. My then husband used to say to the cat "where's the mouse?" The cat showed no interest whatsoever.

As a child my sister had a gerbil called Lassie. She desperately wanted a rough collie but our parents refused point blank.

OP, the rabbit called Hell is most likely inspired by a clothing brand called Hell Bunny, they do gothic/alternative stuff.

I cant help feeling that 'paired' names must be sad when one of them dies.

Our cat doesn't really have a name, a few were suggested but never really st.uck so I just call her 'cat'. Cat brought in a live hamster for us a few years ago. I tried to track down the owner but to no avail so the hamster lived with us. You've guessed it she was called hamster

Oreo is an awesome name 70, Oreo the rat agrees Wink

I have a rat named Howl, it was only when I was registering all of them over the phone to the new vet a month ago, and the receptionist said "Oh, he must be a dog!" that I realised how odd it must be, especially now that the other two following the theme are both dead (Haku and Ashitaka, male protagonists from Studio Ghibli!) so even if you were a fan of Ghibli you may not get the link!

I love 'bland' human names for animals, like Norman or Berta, it's just amusing Grin
