So ... We have 2 New Guinea pigs. A brown one and a black one with no names. They are apparently not allowed human names. Any suggestions ?

They are beautiful! Are they boys or girls? Any ideas what their personalities are like yet?

Most piggies love herbs so maybe something like Parsley and Sage might suit?

My DD had two boars that were black and brown (I'm sure they were Blackie and Brownie in Rescue )

I love person names for males and cute names for girls.

DD and I did a huge shortlist for our sows before we got them (we had no idea what colour they'd be)

for a black piggie - "Bagheera" (Jungle Book) or "Storm" (maybe Merlin)

other names we liked "Tilly" , "Tarragon"

love "Sage" (I used to watch "The Herbs" as a child) one of our boars was Dill (RL name Dylan)

There are entire websites of cute guinea-pig names Wink but sometimes a name just fits

(Our little sow narrowly avoided being called Elsa like 99% of white animals that have been named in the past couple of years. Luckily, she's mine not my DDs piggie)

I'm also a person name fan, but if they're not allowed, how about Cocoa and Coffee? Given recent events, Princess and Duchess? Marjoram and Rosemary - this is just sneaking in person names though.

Toffee and Treacle are lovely names

Or (being perverse) I'd call them Lion (as in Lions Golden Syrup) and Cinder (as in Cinder toffee, not Cinders as in Cinderella)

But you need to imagine the name being shouted out in the Vets waiting room. Wink
